The Changes In Cremations And Funerals In US And Canada

By Alan Redman

Cremations and funerals in US and Canada are the two ways which are used to lay human bodies to final rest. These services are offered by funeral homes. These homes have to get a license from the authorities to carry out this business.

Burial is where the corpse is placed in a casket, and it is buried and covered with soil. Cremation is a process through which human bodies are heated under high temperature, and with a large supply of oxygen and he body turns into chemical compounds. Sometimes a funeral service is conducted and then the burning follows.

These days, however, there has emerged a new trend, and most people are cremating their deceased rather than burying them. Long time ago cremation was only being done by the Hindus. These days, almost all religions, are okay with this new way of burning bodies.

However, the Muslims have still held tight their culture tightly. It is very rare that you will find a Muslim who has been burnt. For Christians, it is yet to become their culture, but they are slowly adopting it.

There are several reasons as to why people currently prefer body burning to cremation and the reasons include one cost, burials are relatively expensive as compared to body burning. The cemeteries are also becoming congested, and it is expensive to buy a piece of land. The other reason it is because of environmental concerns. The coffin is believed to have some contaminants.

There are a number of reasons why people are shifting to body burning and one of the main reasons is that body burning is cheaper than burials. The other cause is that most cemeteries are squeezed, and it is very costly to buy a piece of land. Cremations and funerals in US and Canada are changing a lot, but the reasons are justified and people should consider both options before concluding on which mode to use.
