Recipes For Juicing To Maintain Health

By Mark Nelson

With the hectic high-stress environment that most people live and work in these days, it is not uncommon for adults to skip meals. In addition, the foods that most of us eat are high-calorie, low-nutrient foods. Both situations are a breeding ground for disease, exhaustion, and immune problems. To combat these consequences of the modern lifestyle, many people are seeking recipes for juicing.

When making these healthy liquid meals, sometimes the parts of the produce that we generally throw out are actually used. For example, a juice that is supposed to give energy and vitality includes the apple core. One peels two carrots, slices an apple and removes the seeds but leaves the core, adds a handful of spinach and four strawberries with the top leaves. It is important to note the importance of removing the seeds from the apple core, as fruit seeds do frequently contain poisons such as arsenic.

Any diet that includes juiced produce is going to help a diabetic maintain healthy blood sugar. There are also ingredients which help to aid the body in proper digestion. It has been found recently that an unbalanced gut can lead to many health issues, and it has been long known in the raw food community that a diet which includes a healthy fruit and vegetable juice helps balance the gut.

These diets are now being used to help cancer patients. One reason is because the diets are healthy and provide nutrients that are not always found in the foods available. Another reason is because those undergoing chemotherapy often have trouble eating solid foods.

These diets have long been used as a method to cleanse the body of toxins as well. Ancient people believed that juice fasting could prevent or cure disease of the body and mind. Modern people have found that it can help clear their skin and maintain a healthy weight.

Regardless of the reason that one may wish to go on a liquid diet, the health benefits are well known. This is especially true for very busy people who do not always take the time to eat properly. A poor diet of processed foods can contribute to illness and disease.

The diet itself is only as good as the produce that goes into it, so be sure to buy the fruits and vegetables from local organic farmers. Grocery stores often have produce that is picked green, and may not have all the nutrients needed for one who is creating recipes for juicing. Also, food grown in over-farmed fields may lack certain vital minerals. It is important to know where the produce comes from and how it is grown in order to ensure that one is getting everything they need from the juice.
